A few hiccups on the way but Guy is now ready to start some low level competitons. Although Oasby BE is so local to us it was so tempting to have entered him but I decided to resist the temptation and take him on the Monday after the event to use the xc course to school him. If only!!!! Rain and snow took its toll on the course with competitors eventually being towed out of the lorry park meant that xc schooling had to be abandoned. Boohoo!!
Last weekend 16/03 Elms Farm Equestrian Center were holding showjumping clinics and a clear round sessions. They have a lovely big arena and plenty of jumps. We thought the clear round sessions would benefit Guy. He was very pleased to be out in the lorry thinking he was at a party!!! He was quite strong, thoroughly enjoying himself-I tend to ride with a light seat so had to sit deeper use my seat more. Guy produced two double clear round which I was extremely pleased about especially ending on a 1m fence where he just basculed it superbly :)))) such a good feeling.
This weekend 24/04 Guy was entered in for dressage at Elms Farm popping him into a prelim but yet again the weather has beaten us, snowing and its suppose to be spring time!. Many events have been cancelled from Stafford to Gatcombe. Realisticly I am preparing Guy for his first main event at Shelford in May hoping the weather to be better, inbetween time he will be doing some dressage/combined training events with some xc schooling mixed in.
